Oh God, be our strength in the desert
Be our joy, our daily bread
Sit by the fire and tell stories
Of the days that are ahead.
The Sweetest Journeys take time.
You might be wondering what’s up with the name. Making honey with thyme, what could that mean? Well, It’s about taking the unexpected and making something sweet, it’s about finding treasure in the midst of something that doesn’t seem to be leading to the desired end result, and its about how the sweetest things in life take time to get to.
Who’s That Girl?
Allow me to (re)introduce myself my name is Jessica!
I’m a twenty-something, North Carolina native! You can find me at Target, an outdoor concert or some hipster brewery, just for the Kombucha. I’m passionate about creativity and authenticity and hope that others will always see those things within me. In a group of friends, I’m definitely the Chandler Bing. If you’re into the enneagram, I’m a four. I imagine others would describe me as open to sharing, a little bit dramatic and a girl who has way too many pairs of glasses.
I believe that we all have a purpose in life given to us by God, our creator. I also believe that it’s okay to not really know what that purpose is, because I think that’s what life is for…to find out!
What’s In it For You?
Well, I’m going to be honest, this space is mostly for me.
Wait, before you leave, let me explain! You know that girl who gives great advice to others but can’t seem to extend the same care to herself…well, I’m her. This is the space I’m creating to be a better friend to myself and I want to invite you alongside me. This is a personal blog, not a 3 steps to get rich quick or collection of lists on how to become the best you ever. Because honestly, I just don’t have the energy to pretend to know all the answers. In summary, what I hope you get from this space is this:
- A good read with your morning coffee
- An encouraging word to share with a friend
- A laugh, because I’d like to consider myself humorous. (and can definitely find you a funny meme)
